Fall

Well, I noticed my last post was May 18th, so I guess that says a little bit about my time.  I just finished my fall season of tennis so hopefully I will have some time to get some things caught up and post some of my new quilts and projects.  I also have a wonderful recipe I want to share with you as well.  The weather has finally cooled off so it is beginning to feel like fall.

Here is a picture of my daugher on the day of her graduation from Baylor University.

  It was a great day spent with family and close friends.  I don't think there is ever a moment that makes you more proud, as a parent, than watching your children complete their college education.  It has been a great four years, lots of events, learning opportunities, tears, and laughter along the way.  We are so proud of you, Keeley Ann!

This is one of my favorite pictures.  It was as if she stopped to reflect on her four years.  Precious!

Tennis season is over...

    Well, the tennis season is over....so now I should have some time to catch up on some things....quilting, piecing, and getting my blog up to date.  I have so many new siggies, I am going to post...soon!  This has been so much fun getting different ones for so many of you all across the world!  I have also been combining my siggy lists to make sure I have not forgotten to send one that has been sent to me.
     I also have a new picture of my quilt I won a blue ribbon for at the quilt show here in Brownwood.  It was a block of the month quilt and I enlarged it to fit my bed.  I will be posting it soon.
    I am finishing a t-shirt quilt now and then I am going to get back to work on my civil war block of the month with Barbara Brackman.  I have fallen behind....Seems like I have so many things to do and just not enough time.  But summer is coming... :)

Custom wool quilt

Well this post is long overdue.....I have met myself coming and going and finally I finished this custom quilt.  It is appliqued with wool, made by Linda Lancaster, who always does such beautiful handwork.  Here are some of the pictures of the quilt.

It is a beautiful Saturday morning here in Brownwood, TX.  Our family will be gathering shortly for my 77 year old Mother's wedding.  She is so excited and marrying a very nice man.  It will be a fun day shared by family for a special occasion.  I am hoping to have a little time to get some things caught up this morning before all the festivities get started.  It has been a busy week so not a lot of sewing or quilting has been done.  I did receive two more siggies that I want to post.  I am going to try and get some more of my own made so I can send some out this next week.  Hope you all have a great weekend!

Angel Chicken

It seems like my posts come in spurts....I guess primarily because they do.  This week has been a great week--busy, but we have had beautiful weather here in Texas and it has been a great time to be on the tennis court.  With so much time on the court I am always looking for ways to cook dinner in a shortened time or in my crock pot.  So I wanted to share one of my all time favorite recipes called Angel Chicken.  My family loves this--it is easy and sooo good.   Here it is:

This creamy chicken is great served over angel hair pasta and heavenly served over fettuccine or rice.

6 skinless boneless chicken breast halves ( about 1 1/2 lbs.)
1/4 C. butter
1 7 ounce pkg. Italian salad dressing mix
1 10 3/4 ounce can condensed golden mushroom soup
1/2 C. dry white wine
1/2 of an 8 ounce tub cream cheese with chives and onion

Place chicken in a crock pot.  In a medium saucepan, melt the butter.  Stir in the dry Italian salad dressing mix.  Stir in mushroom soup, white wine, and cream cheese until combined.  Pour over the chicken.  Cover and cook on low heat setting for 4 to 5 hours.  Serve chicken and sauce over hot cooked pasta.

It is that time of year that is probably the busiest of my life--tennis season is in full bloom, lots of people needing quilts quilted and all the tempting new spring fabrics are out.  So much to do and not enough time!  But I enjoy doing all the above things so I make time and stay busy!  I love this new project with the siggies.  Here are three of my new siggies I received just this past week.
